Drop the Hammer
May 29th, 2025 - June 1st, 2025
With anticipation growing for 2025, the event kicked off at Mid Michigan Motorplex with a bonus day of early tech and registration and testing. When racing concluded on Friday 117 racers and 14 Hammer Cruisers set out for 135-mile trip to Lapeer International Dragway for some racing at a very unique track. Though the weather was a little damp and cool, the racing got off to a little later start with some tricky action. A 100-mile drive to ATS Fleet Service for dinner and burnouts was a welcome time by the racers. The last 35 miles back to Mid Michigan set the stage for some killer racing. This year we upped The Quick 8 Shoot Out to 16 cars and increased the payout 10 fold. In addition to that we added The Close 8 Shoot Out for our DYO group.

Drop the Hammer
May 31st, 2024 - June 2nd, 2024
After not being able to hold the inaugural Drop the Hammer in 2023, 2024 set the stage for its entry into the Drag and Drive arena. Drop the Hammer started off at US131 Motorsports Park with 54 races and six Hammer Cruise participants laying down their first passes of the event. After traveling 125 miles to Mid Michigan Motorplex they took another shot at improving their times on day two. Another 125-mile cruise back to US131 proved to be a little more difficult as rain set in for the evening while racers worked their way to their hotels for the night. Due to the rain from the night before there was a little delay getting started with the racing on day three, the final day. After a couple of hours, the race was called due to the rain still posing problem for the safety of the participants.
